1790 Joseph Guillotine proposes a new, more humane method of execution: a machine designed to cut off the condemned person’s head as painlessly as possible.
1793 The French King Louis XVI 16 is guillotined for treason.
1824 Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson, Confederate General.
He won his nickname at the Battle of First Bull Run. the flanking maneuver at the Battle of Chancellorsville that made him a military legend. Only General Robert E. Lee occupies a higher place in the Confederate pantheon, and prior to the Seven Days Battles, Jackson was a greater hero to the South than Lee was. A devout Christian who believed in predestination, he saw himself as an instrument of God’s will, an Old Testament–style commander of armies in the service of his Lord. He was mortally wounded by his own men during the Battle of Chancellorsville, and many people have speculated that if he had been alive to participate in Lee’s Pennsylvania Campaign the Battle of Gettysburg would have resulted in Confederate victory.

Winter Skin and How to Enrich it so it's Protected From the Elements
A great segment loaded with details! Due to the cold, moisture in the air is much less than what our skin requires. For every degree drop in temperature, the body produces around 10% less oil and moisture, which is the opposite of what occurs during the summer months. Because of this environment, water is lost from our skin cells, leaving it feeling extremely dry and tight. Our skin’s need for moisture is significantly higher during the winter season and if it isn’t remedied, our body becomes environmentally stressed. Symptoms of this condition include:
Itchy or sensitive skin
Increased sensitivity of the cheeks
Increase in ageing lines
We talk about what dries us out, we talk about how petroleum, found in most skincare produces, goes right to your fat cells and stays there!

Does This Volvo Make my Butt Look Big?
Thoughts for Moms and Other Tired People.
Author Annabel Monaghan is "wry and humorous, truthful and self-deprecating. Her writing combines the brilliance of Nora Ephron's wit and Erma Bombeck's madcap housewifery, with a dash of Liz Gilbert's heartfelt girlfriend truth." -Lee Woodruff, New York Times Bestselling author of Perfectly Imperfect.
Columnist Annabel Monaghan writes with enough empathy to cut through the hushed gossip of the playground and enough humor to disarm a toddler with a sugar habit. Undoubtedly, her words are the ones you need when you send your oldest child to college. Written with crisp prose that diffuses the illusion of the perfect mom, Annabel will remind you that when we peer over the tall fences that divide families, much of our experiences are shared. If you've ever lied your way through a parent-teacher conference or marveled at the cluelessness of teenagers, this book is for you. If you've ever quietly rooted against your own child when he was trying to win a goldfish, you'll certainly find your truth here.
A wonderful and super fun interview with Life with Moxie's comedic edition of our model listener. A very committed, loving and super smart parent who wants to be the best she can while maintaining her near daily position of being the last mom in carline, super excited to see her kids and panicked because she just remember she still has to run to the grocery store, for an onion... A must listen! And then a Must read! Your parenting soul will thank you.
