I believe that women are the single most powerful force in the world. We are smart, intuitive, strong, thoughtful, inspiring, empathetic and nurturing. That makes us the most effective critical decision-makers for the best interest of ourselves, our families and our communities.
We control 28 trillion dollars in spending power worldwide. We make 90% of the purchasing decisions in our households, from the groceries to cars, we decide if our family members go to the doctor or not, what food is accessible at home and what is modeled for others, both children and adults, about how to care for the "self."
Yet too many of us have unknowingly and willfully fallen victim to advertisers telling us what we "deserve" and what we've "earned," and "we'll help you do it better," so we feel entitled to make extremely poor choices for ourselves and our families, as if it's an earned privilege to do what they say. By "knowingly and willfully" I mean we've been manipulated into believing that they are creating and selling these things for our best interest, because they care. On top of that, our children have become brainwashed by the same advertisers to drive us crazy until we buy and it has created an internal state within the family that has become overwhelming from the constant resistance. Humans are the only species that will knowingly make a poor choice for our wellbeing. How did we get here? Frankly, I believe we kind of gave up... and I also believe that this isn't how we want it to be.
